These are real walking times, measured from our door at 175 Bealey Avenue:
- Christchurch Town Hall is 800 m straight down Colombo Street, an 11-minute walk. The Convention Centre and casino are in the same pocket of town.
- Cathedral Square is about 20 minutes on foot.
- Riverside Market is 1.7 km away, a 23-minute walk along Colombo Street and Oxford Terrace, and well worth it for lunch.
- Hagley Park and the Botanic Gardens are about a half-hour stroll along the Park Terrace edge, or under ten minutes in the car.

Getting around
Park in the secure car park in front of the motor lodge and you won’t need the car much after that. Colombo Street runs from our corner straight into the middle of the city, and everything listed above is inside a half-hour walk. When you do drive, Bealey Avenue is part of the city’s northern ring road, so it’s an easy run to the motorways heading north and west.
